How to Cure Heart Disease without Surgery?
  • Many people use the names coronary artery disease and coronary heart disease interchangeably.
  • Coronary artery disease is considered the most common type of heart disease. It occurs when theres a blockage of one or more arteries that supply blood to the heart.
  • In the first stage of heart disease, called angina, blood flow to the heart is restricted. When blood flow stops, theres a myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack. The combination of these two conditions is what many doctors are referring to when they say coronary heart disease .
  • What is atherosclerosis, and how does it differ from CHD/CAD? When someone has CHD or CAD, the buildup of substances inside their arteries is what is referred to as arteriosclerosis . The definition of arteriosclerosis is a disease of the arteries characterized by the deposition of plaques of fatty material on their inner walls.
  • Arteriosclerosis refers to hardening and thickening of the walls of the arteries. It is often said to be partly a function of aging. Over time the smooth, elastic arterial cells become more fibrous and stiff. Calcium, cholesterol particles and fatty acids accumulate on arterial walls and form a swelling called an atheroma. Atheroma are capable of bursting, causing blood clots, and leading to heart attacks or strokes. In populations that eat an unprocessed diet, far less inflammation-caused arteriosclerosis and heart disease are present.

How Is Heart Attack Diagnosed

You may need several tests to determine the cause of your symptoms.

  • Electrocardiogram. This test records the electrical activity of your heart. It can help diagnose heart rhythm problems. It can also find damage from a decrease in blood flow.
  • Blood tests. When blood flow decreases, special proteins leak into the blood system. A blood test can detect these proteins. Your doctor will want to test your blood several times during the first 24 to 48 hours after yours symptoms start.

Other tests your doctor may want you to have include:

  • Echocardiogram. This test uses sound waves to create pictures of your heart. The pictures show how well your heart is pumping. It can show if there are problems with your heart valves.
  • Chest X-ray.This looks at the size and shape of your heart. It can show if there is any fluid in your lungs.
  • Nuclear imaging. This test injects a tiny radioactive substance into your blood. This substance travels to your heart to create pictures of it. It shows how well your heart is pumping. The radioactive substance is safe and leaves your body after the test is finished.
  • Coronary angiography. This test is sometimes called cardiac catheterization. It involves inserting a long tube into a blood vessel. The tube is guided to the heart or arteries that carry blood to the heart. A substance is injected into the tube that makes it visible by X-ray. It allows your doctor to see where the blockage that caused the decrease in blood flow to your heart is located.

What Causes A Heart Attack

A heart attack occurs when part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies from lack of oxygen. When a blockage occurs in your coronary arteries, blood and oxygen dont get to the heart. This can lead to a heart attack if it isnt treated quickly

Most heart attacks are a result of coronary heart or artery disease. A waxy substance called plaque builds up in the arteries. This is called atherosclerosis. It takes years for the plaque to build up. When the plaque breaks up, it travels through the blood stream. This creates blood clots. The clots slow or stop blood flow to the heart. Then the heart doesnt get enough oxygen. The tissue not receiving the oxygen begins to die.

Risk factors for a heart attack include:

  • Smoking.
  • Obesity.
  • Gender. More men have heart attacks. But heart disease is the leading cause of death for American women.

A less common cause of heart attack is a severe spasm, or tightening, of a coronary artery. This can happen in an artery that doesnt have plaque build-up. Instead, the tightening cuts off the blood flow. Spasms arent as well understood as a cause for heart attack. They seem to be related to:

  • Taking specific drugs, such as cocaine.
  • Cigarette smoking.
  • Severe emotional pain or stress.

Improving Heart Health Naturally3

For years, we in the medical community taught that lowering LDL was the primary treatment target for reducing cardiovascular events. And certainly, improving LDL is still very important.

But there is now growing consensus that non-HDL cholesterol is a better predictor of cardiovascular disease risk because non-HDL contains not only LDL but other bad particles that contribute to the build-up of cholesterol-filled plaques in the artery wall.

Nowadays, most standard lipid panels will tell you what your non-HDL cholesterol is.

Heart Disease Treatment

There are many risk factors for heart disease, some you can do something about, and some you can’t. A family history of heart disease puts you at much greater risk for developing it yourself. While you can’t do anything about your genes, there are a number of risk factors that you can control. These are the ones you can do something about:

  • High levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol , and low levels of high-density lipoprotein .
  • High levels of triglycerides. Triglyceride levels increase when you eat too many fatty foods or when you eat too much — excess calories are made into triglycerides and stored as fat in cells. Having an abundance of triglycerides has been linked to coronary heart disease.
  • High blood pressure
  • Ongoing stress or depression

Exercise For Thirty Minutes A Day

To back up your new, healthy diet, you also need to make sure youre getting enough exercise to help you manage your weight and improve your overall health. Regular physical activity helps to stimulate your heart, strengthening its pumping action and keeping it healthy. It also helps to increase the level of good cholesterol in your blood, whilst decreasing the levels of bad cholesterol. As such, it can significantly help to reduce your risk of heart disease.

Can Cardiovascular Disease Be Prevented

It may take 10 to15 years from the beginning of a plaque formation in a coronary artery to narrow that artery to constrict blood flow.

The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology have developed guidelines so that health-care professionals may counsel and treat their patients to decrease the risk of developing heart disease. New attention is being paid to the role of weight reduction, diet, exercise, and the use of cholesterol-lowering medications called statins.

In the past, the goal for statin drugs like atorvastatin, was to lower the blood cholesterol level to a specific number and statins were prescribed for patients with high cholesterol levels or those who had had heart attacks. The new guidelines recommend that more patients may benefit from these statin drugs. Rather than having specific cholesterol numbers as a goal, the new goal is to lower the blood cholesterol level by 50% in high-risk patients and by 30% to 50% in those who are at lower risk to develop heart disease. You and your doctor should discuss which goals are best for your condition.

Preventing cardiovascular disease is a lifelong commitment to control blood pressure, high cholesterol, quit smoking, and diabetes. Now, new opportunities exist to decrease risk even further with these new guidelines. These are also the steps to take to decrease the risk of stroke and peripheral artery disease.

Heart Disease Treatment – How To Stop Heart Disease

Cardiovascular disease is a class of disease involving the heart or blood vessels. Commonly placed under the heart disease umbrella, cardiovascular problems are often dangerous and ought to be addressed immediately.

One of the most fatal heart problems is when a person suffers from a heart attack. A heart attack occurs when a coronary artery becomes clogged up, causing blood flow to stop, and subsequently oxygen deprivation to the heart muscle.

Heart attack symptoms include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, and across the back and neck. Most commonly, chest pains and shortness in breath precede heart attacks.

Oftentimes after a heart attack, patients often call emergency hotlines to ask how to cure a heart attack. Patients are often instructed to take an aspirin. Aspirin helps in reducing blood clotting, thus encouraging blood flow through the blocked artery and to the heart.

Most prescriptions and heart attack treatment thereafter also serve to prevent unwanted blood clots and to lower blood pressure to ease strain on the heart.

As heart failures and heart attacks are often a result of heart diseases, it is important to know how to treat heart diseases as well.

If you have been diagnosed with a heart disease, a lifestyle change is in need. For example, smokers are encouraged to quit smoking due to the stress that nicotine causes on the body.

The Need For A Healthy Diet:

The bad diet may be the worst habit for people with heart disease. It will worsen the symptoms and lead to heart attack. Therefore, as the tip on how to cure heart disease without surgery, you should avoid fat and bad diet. According to the Reversal Diet, it is recommended to eat 15-20% protein, 10% fat. Your body and your heart will gradually recover by simply changing your diet and avoiding factors that cause heart problems. You should consume more healthy foods which are rich in protective and preventive nutrients. I suggest that a diet which has a variety of fruits, vegetables, legumes, soy products and whole grains will be not only good for your heart but also for your body.

When Should I Call An Ambulance

Linus Paulings Heart Disease Therapy

Linus Pauling, winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1954, established a protocol to prevent heart disease. He believed, as many others do, that heart disease is caused by inadequate vitamin C in the body.

  • 2-4 grams Lysine
  • 2-4 grams Vitamin C

For those who already have heart disease, the amounts are increased by 50%.

  • 6 grams Lysine
  • 6 grams Vitamin C

Because your body uses vitamin C and Lysine quickly, it is best to take these supplements several times a day. If you take them four times a day you will end up taking

  • .5 1 gram each of Lysine and Vitamin C for heart disease prevention or
  • 1.5 grams each of Lysine and Vitamin C for those with heart disease .

Taking these supplements several times daily will also reduce the risk of side effects.

Things You Can Do To Help With Coronary Heart Disease

Heart disease

If you’ve been diagnosed with coronary heart disease, making simple lifestyle changes can reduce your risk of having further episodes.

For example, stopping smoking after a heart attack quickly reduces your risk of having a heart attack in the future to near that of a non-smoker.

Other lifestyle changes, such as eating more healthily and doing regular exercise, will also reduce your future risk of heart disease.

Causes Of Heart Disease

While heart disease is a term used to describe all forms of circulatory problems, the most common circulatory ailment is coronary heart disease. It is a narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart. Coronary heart disease is also referred to as coronary artery disease.

âThe main cause of cardiovascular disease is the instability and dysfunction of the blood vessel wall caused by chronic vitamin deficiency. This leads to millions of small lesions and cracks in the artery wall, particularly in the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries are mechanically the most stressed arteries because they are squeezed flat from the pumping action of the heart more than 100,000 times per day, similar to a garden hose which is stepped upon.â

âDr. Matthias Rath, Why Animals Donât Get Heart Disease, But People Do.

Dr. Matthias Rath worked closely with the late Dr. Linus Pauling. They discovered that cardiovascular disease is a slower, less-severe form of scurvy. In scurvy, cracks in the vessel walls are deeper, leading to massive internal bleeding. Dr. Linus Pauling labeled artheriosclerosis as a pre-scurvy condition.

âChlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times. While it prevented epidemics of one disease, it was creating another. Two decades ago, after the start of chlorinating our drinking water in 1904, the present epidemic of heart trouble, cancer and senility began.â

âDr. Joseph M. Price

Common Heart Attack Types And Treatments

The type of heart attack you experienced determines the treatments that your medical team will recommend. A heart attack occurs when a blockage in one or more coronary arteries reduces or stops blood flow to the heart, which starves part of the heart muscle of oxygen.

The blockage might be complete or partial:

  • A complete blockage of a coronary artery means you suffered a STEMI heart attack or ST-elevation myocardial infarction.
  • A partial blockage is an NSTEMI heart attack or a non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction

Treatments differ for a STEMI versus NSTEMI heart attack, although there can be some overlap.

Hospitals commonly use techniques to restore blood flow to part of the heart muscle damaged during a heart attack:

  • You might receive clot-dissolving drugs , balloon angioplasty , surgery or a combination of treatments.
  • About 36 percent of hospitals in the U.S. are equipped to use a procedure called percutaneous coronary intervention , a mechanical means of treating heart attack.

At a hospital equipped to administer PCI, you would likely be sent to a department that specializes in cardiac catheterization, sometimes called a cath lab. There, a diagnostic angiogram can examine blood flow to your heart and reveal how well your heart is pumping. Depending on the results of that procedure, you may be routed to one of three treatments: medical therapy only, PCI or coronary artery bypass grafting .

What Is A Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

Before you leave the hospital, your doctor may talk to you about a cardiac rehabilitation program. These programs provide information that will help you understand your risk factors. It will help you live a healthy lifestyle that can prevent future heart problems. You will learn about exercise and diet, and how to reach and maintain a healthy weight. You will also learn ways to control your stress level, your blood pressure, and your cholesterol levels.

Your cardiac rehabilitation program will probably start while you are still in the hospital. After you leave the hospital, your rehabilitation will continue in a rehab center. The rehab center may be at the hospital or in another location.

Most cardiac rehabilitation programs last 3 to 6 months. Your doctor will talk to you about how often you need to attend the program. Once you enroll in a cardiac rehabilitation program, regular attendance is important. The more lifestyle changes you make, the better your chances of preventing future heart problems.

The sooner you get medical help, the greater your chances of surviving a heart attack. Do not delay getting immediate medical attention if you are experiencing symptoms of heart attack.
